Ingredients
Main
- 800 g Chicken breasts or thighs, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
Thighs work particularly well in slow cookers as they stay moist
Sauce
- 100 ml Clear honey
- 8 cloves Garlic cloves, minced, minced or crushed
Fresh garlic gives the best flavour
- 60 ml Soy sauce
- 120 ml Chicken stock or water
Reduced quantity for slow cooker to prevent excess liquid
Seasoning
- 15 g Cornstarch or arrowroot powder, mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water(optional)
Add in final 15 minutes if you prefer a thicker sauce
Optional for thickening the sauce at the end
Garnish
- 2 stalks Spring onions, sliced, thinly sliced(optional)
Add as garnish just before serving
- 10 g Sesame seeds(optional)

Method

If desired, brown the chicken pieces in a hot frying pan with a touch of oil for 2-3 minutes per side to develop colour and flavour. This step is optional but recommended.

Add the chicken pieces to your slow cooker. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and chicken stock. Pour this mixture over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
