Delicious barbecue perfect for sandwiches on a cold day
Ingredients:
- 1kg (2½lb) pork shoulder roast
- 1½ cups chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup water
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- 1½ teaspoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce (or to taste)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Steps:
- Mix all ingredients except for the pork shoulder roast together
in slow cooker until combined.
- Place pork shoulder roast into the mixture. Baste with some of
the sauce mixture. Set slow cooker to “Low.” Let cook 7 to 8 hours.
- Shred meat with two forks, serve on sandwich rolls with sauce.
