  • 2 lb (900g) boneless pork loin roast
  • cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • teaspoon salt
  • a dash hot pepper sauce


  • Place the onion slices in the slow cooker, arrange evenly in the bottom.
  • Put the pork roast on top of the onion.
  • Meanwhile, mix the sugar, vinegar, water, soy sauce, black pepper, ketchup, salt, hot sauce and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Pour the mixture over the roast.
  • Cover and cook for 6 to 8 hours over low heat or 3 to 4 hours over high heat.
  • Serve.
