I have just started using my slow cooker for the first time after having it in the cupboard for 5 years! I cooked my gammon yesterday in brown sugar honey and mustard and it was amazing, I then saved the syrup and cooked some cocktail sausages and chicken in it today - really nice.

Just cooked this with an 800g gammon joint and 125g of sugar. I added about a tablespoon of water and cooked it on low for 5hrs. Perfect! Melted in the mouth and was full of taste. Definitely do this one again.

Can I add marmalade at all to this recipe?

Hi Slow Cook newbie, There is no need to add water if the recipe does not directly state it. You will find that juices will come from the meat.

Do you add water (is that what you mean when you say cover)?
