Make fun of fondue and other 70s dishes all you want: there’s no denying
that everyone eats it up anyway, whether on fresh strawberries or cubes
of angel food cake. Bananas, pretzels, and pineapple bits are also
popular fondue conveyances. This recipe is very easy to make, right in
your slow cooker. Smaller slow cookers are better for this recipe, but
you could always double the recipe. It will get eaten.
Ingredients:
- 1 340g (12oz) packet semisweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup soy milk
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Steps:
- Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
- Turn cooker on High setting and stir ingredients occasionally
until chips are melted and sauce is smooth. It should take 10 to 15
minutes, but will depend on your particular slow cooker.
- If you serve the fondue in your slow cooker, turn it to “Warm”
setting if your slow cooker has it, or Low otherwise. Or you can
serve it in a fondue pot.
- Serve with an assortment of small foods that are easily skewered
on fondue forks or shish kebab sticks.
