If you’re not familiar with Bisquick, it is an all-purpose baking mix, similar to pancake mix, available at Sainsburys, Tesco, and the like. It can usually be found in the cake mix or home baking section, and it is quite often located on one of the lower shelves. This cobbler is made with frozen berries, so it can be a year-round taste of summer. Serve with fresh whipped cream.

  • 280g (9oz) bag frozen blueberries
  • 280g (9oz)bag frozen raspberries
  • 280g (9oz)bag frozen strawberries
  • ⅓ to 2/3 cup sugar (depending on how sweet or tart you want your cobbler)
  • ½ cup Bisquick or similar baking mix

  • 2 ¼ cups Bisquick or similar baking mix
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup sugar (separate from the previous ¼ cup sugar)
  • 4 tablespoon butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  1. Spray inside of slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray
  2. In a large bowl, make the cobbler filling by tossing frozen berries, sugar, and ½ cup baking mix.
  3. Place fruit/sugar/baking mix combination in slow cooker
  4. Make the dough topping: In a large bowl, stir together 2 ¼ cups baking mix, ¼ cup sugar, melted butter, and milk to form a gloppy dough.
  5. Using your hands, drop the dough in bits on top of the fruit mixture in the slow cooker.
  6. In a small bowl, stir together the other ¼ cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle mixture on top of dough.
  7. Cover slow cooker and cook on High setting for 3 to 4 hours, or until the topping is puffed and fruit is bubbling.
