Chicken is one of the easiest and tastiest foods to prepare using
your slow cooker. You can make these simply, healthy recipes with little
effort for a delicious meal even on your busiest days.
There's no need to put any liquid in at all. Important to raise the chicken off the bottom of the pot. I am using scrunched up tin foil as I don't have a rack. Produces a lot of juice.

After reading various recipes for cooking chicken I ended up doing the following and it tasted great... Get 1 whole chiicken, clean it and pat it dry. Cut a lemon into 4 and put it in the cavaty. Put salt on the outside of the chicken skin and butter between the skin and flash. Cradle chicken in tin foil and put in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3 hours, then low for 3 hours. You can then use the tin foil to lift the chicken out and the meat should fall off the bone. The chicken will take on the taste of the lemon as well.

I'm with Erin on the chicken with cider cream. Mine was edible, but bland. I live in Cambodia and cider is very expensive and was a waste of money in this dish.

@ Erin Spencer Try to substitute the cider with a nice intense chicken stock (Broth) with a splash of white wine. that should make you want to make it all the time.....
