Slow Cooker Size 3.5L+

Cooking time: 8-12 hours on Low and 1-3 hours on High settings


  • 5 or 6 whole cloves
  • 2 kg (4 lb) pork roast
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 onions, divided and sliced
  • 470 ml (16 fl oz) barbeque sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Put one sliced of onion in the bottom part of your slow cooker.
  2. Put the cloves to the pork roast and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Put the roast in the slow cooker and top with sliced onion.
  4. Add the remaining sliced of onion and fill the slow cooker with water, just about 2/3 of the way.
  5. Cover and cook for 8 to 12 hours over low heat.
  6. Remove the roast from the slow cooker.
  7. Remove and discard the cloves, onions, fat and bones.
  8. Allow the pork roast to cool.
  9. Pull the pork roast apart and shred using your fork fingers.
  10. Put the shredded pork roast back to the slow cooker, make sure to remove its grease free.
  11. Stir in chopped onion and barbeque sauce.
  12. Add 2 cups of water.
  13. Cover and heat for 1-3 hours over high heat until onions are soft.
  14. Serve.
