I followed the recipe but my pork still came out dry - not the flakey tender pork I was hoping for. Can anyone give suggestions as to why? I cooked it for 1hr high then 5hr low. Could this be why? So far disappointed with slow cooker :( think I'm doing something wrong.

Confused me re coming temp/time as at start said 'low 7-9 hrs and high 3-4 hrs' but at end it's 6-8 hrs on low.......

What time did others cook this for with good results?

try adding some beef boulignon stock for extra flavour, or even a bit of gravy, serve with mash or rice!

I doubled the ingredients ie: 800 g pork but in my opinion 1 cup of cider is not enough. Should I add more cider as in my opinion the pork is not simmering in so mych liquid. Any help please as its cooking now. Thks

Try swapping the pork for some pheasant breasts and some diced smoked bacon.

If you have a good game butcher near you, there are certain times of the year when pheasant is actually cheaper than chicken!!!

Louise... it says to cook on LOW for 6 - 8 hours. LOW.

This recipe requires 6-8 hours on low. Most pork / beef dishes are 3-4 hours high or 6-8 on low.

As a new beginner to slow cooking in crockpots I have tried this recipe today. It's currently cooking but one snag I came across. It does not inform the user on what temp to set the slow cooker on? Low, medium or high
