ive just bought a slow cooker dus ever dish have to be cooked with some sort a stock or water as most recipes dont even mention fluid at all or how much to add or use this would be a good tip to avoied runny floating meat dishes lol

There is nothing in the directions about what to do with the chicken stock. I poured the stock over the contents but found that this was too much stock and the result was a lot of watery fluid in which the chicken and vegetables were floating. It might be an idea to use less stock and use corn starch or flour to thicken the stock at the end.

This doesn't mention when to add the stock. I added it at the very end of the process...we'll see tonight.
Remove skin from poultry, and trim excess fat from meats. Fats will melt
with long cooking times, and will add an unpleasant texture to the finished
dish. Fatty foods will also cook too quickly.
Large pieces of meat can be browned before cooking in the crockpot, but
this step isn't necessary. Browning adds color and helps in flavor
development.
Dairy products should be added during the last 30 minutes of cooking
time, unless the recipes states otherwise.
