Delicious Dates and Apples Pudding for Slow Cooker

Print Recipe
Preparation time: 25 minutes
Slow Cooker Size 3.5L+
Serves: 4
Cooking time: 3-4 hours on LOW setting

This dessert is well worth the wait. Not only is it flavourful, rich, and delicious, it makes your whole kitchen smell heavenly. Perfect after a meal of roast beef or chicken.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup chopped and toasted pecans
  • 5 cooking apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup chopped dates
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 egg, beaten

Steps:

  1. Toast pecans by spreading them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place in a 175C (350F / oven gas mark 4), stirring occasionally, 10 to 12 minutes.
  2. Place apples, sugar, dates, pecans into slow cooker and blend with a spoon.
  3. In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Stir into apple mixture.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over mixture and stir again. Stir in egg.
  5. Cook on Low setting for 3 to 4 hours.
