Ultimate Comfort Food Chicken and Noodles

Print Recipe
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Slow Cooker Size 4L+
Serves: 6
Cooking time: 4 hours on High setting or 6-8 hours on Low setting

This is comfort food at its most indulgent. It doesn’t cure the common cold, but it certainly makes the recipient feel better. A meal all in itself, you could serve it with a cold glass of milk, or a nice Chenin Blanc or Chianti if you’re feeling daring

Ingredients:

  • 1.3 kg (3 lb) boneless, skinless chicken pieces
  • 1 carrot
  • ½ cup celery
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 230 g (8oz) pkg. extra wide noodles
  • 110 g (4oz) butter

Steps:

  1. Place chicken, celery, carrot, water, and salt in slow cooker. Cook on High setting 4 hours or Low setting 6-8 hours
  2. Add noodles to pot.
  3. Cook 1 hour on Low setting.
  4. Add butter immediately before serving.
