When it comes to soup, this recipe is definitely a stand out.


  • 19 oz (550g) silverbeet or kale, sliced thinly
  • 6 all-purpose potatoes chopped
  • 3 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 onion chopped
  • cup olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 chorizo sausage diced


  • Place the onion, potato, garlic, olive oil and stock in the slow cooker.
  • Cook for 3 hours on High.
  • Take the mixture off the slow cooker and transfer into a bowl.
  • Puree until soft using a hand-held blender.
  • Transfer the mixture into a food processor. Blend well.
  • Bring the mixture back to the slow cooker.
  • Add the silverbeet and chorizo.
  • Cook on Low for another 1 hour.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
