Slow Cooker Baby Food Recipes - Bread Pudding

Print Recipe
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Slow Cooker Size 3.5L+
Serves: 6
Cooking time: 5-6 hours on Low

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of French bread cubes – toasted
  • 2 ½ cups of milk -scalded and cooled slightly
  • 2 eggs – beaten
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • A dash of nutmeg and salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • ½ cup of raisins - optional (you can also use apples if you prefer)
  • Dessert sauce or whipped cream for the garnish.

Steps:

  1. To prepare, you need to lightly butter the slow cooker and after that add the bread cubes carefully to the cooker.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, use a whisk to combine the milk that you have scalded, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla, and the melted butter.
  3. Once all ingredients are together, pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes then add the raisins, or the apples, if you wish to do so.
  4. You will need to absorb the milk mixture using all the bread pieces therefore you need to press them down very well using a large spoon or spatula carefully. When doing this, it is very important that you do not stir them together.

Cook on low for 5-6 hours making sure that you have covered the food. Cook until the pudding has set and serve it with a yummy frozen vanilla yogurt that is sure to bring a giant smile to your baby's little face.
