Dear Jennifer ,Neat Post, Slow cookers are a faansttic piece of equipment to have in your home. It both saves time and it also prepares faansttic, well-cooked, great tasting meals. There are some who have not operated a slow cooker though, and for those people who haven't, read up on this practical information.Good Job!

Preparation time:
Slow Cooker Size 3.5L+
Serves: 4
Cooking time:

Whether with fried eggs, fried potatoes, jacket potatoes, toast, or a sausage roll, baked beans are the perfect accompaniment. And they have plenty of protein and fibre, so they make a great meatless main dish as well. Here is an inexpensive, very easy recipe for this standby favourite.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb (220g) small dried white beans
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 8 tablespoons sugar (brown or white)
  • 0.5 lb (220g) pork or bacon pieces
  • 4 cups cold water

Steps:

  • Rinse and drain beans.
  • Mix all ingredients together in slow cooker.
  • Let cook at medium setting for 8 hours or Low setting for 12 hours.
  • Recipe End
